About me

Here's me, Flor de Maria Dominguez Cruz (my full, very latin and long name), the face behind mexicoasis.com that you are so kindly visiting. I'm glad that you want to know more about me, of course I'm a mexican, I live in the city of Xalapa, capitol of the State of Veracruz, 5 hours away from Mexico City, (exactly 333 kms. away, on the southeastern part of the country, in the Gulf of Mexico).

I've been madferit since I first heard Wonderwall sang by Liam's beautiful voice and after I saw him, wow!, that was love at first sight! (something that is not hard to understand knowing how good looking "our kid" is, right?)

After buying Oasis' first two albums Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? and listening to them constantly, I became more and more of a fan of their incredible music, as well as my brother Carlos and since we also used to watch the Live by the Sea video quite a lot, we became more and more eager to see them live.

Fortunately, when the third album Be Here Now came out and Oasis made a triumphant World Tour, they decided to close the Tour in Mexico City!, fate, coincidence, or carefully thought decision, I have no clue, but the result has been a neverending affair with Mexico that has brought them to close their World Tours in here two times, and come to play concerts three times in total ("third times' a charm" right?), with a gig that is becoming a true classic.

At the 1998 Oasis' visit, me and my brother met the band, but for me, it was all about Liam, he is amazingly looking and has the cool personality that everyone imagines, plus he is the kindest lad I've ever met!, I asked him for a picture and he accepted to give me the gorgeous one you can see here, I love to remember that when I told him, "can you take your sunglasses off, please?", he leaned towards me and asked me "what?" and after I repeated the request, he immediately took them off and his beautiful eyes and oh! so manly and sexy eyebrows show at my picture, where its easy to see how happy I was (I'm always so happy when I'm around him... it sure feels so much like love).

Well, now on to the details about my life. I was born on July 19th and I was raised and educated in Xalapa as well, I'm a lawyer, I'm single, I obtained my major in law at the local and very renowned Universidad Veracruzana, I also have a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Politics at the Universidad Anahuac de Xalapa, I currently work as a teacher at the Colegio Preparatorio de Xalapa, the oldest high school in Veracruz (it dates back to 1846) during the afternoons, I teach philosophy and I'm also Chief Administrative at the Librado Basilio Historical Library at the same school. I have built and mantain the school's website. I'm trying to build a career in public administration and I also want to get into politics eventually, my beliefs are focused on the left-center wing.

And of course my passion and my thrills come from Rock 'n' Roll, I have attended several rock concerts around the world and I plan to attend even more Oasis' concerts in the future; at their latest visit to Mexico, I had the priviledge to have a long conversation with Liam Gallagher at his table at the hotel bar where he was hanging with some of his friends from the crew, and I offered him to build this website for the band in English and Spanish, I sure hope Liam gets to visit this site (he seemed interested), because I am so dearly dedicating it to him and I know that Oasis is yet to have its biggest success, I will be there to witness it up close and I'll try to help as much as I can to spread the word on their wonderful music.

Yes, I love cats, but I have only one, the looker on the right is my beloved pet Tico, and since I don't have any children, the cat is completely spoiled as you can guess, and very attached to me, but of course, I want to have children of my own and when I do, dear Tico will have to stay at home with my parents, who love him a lot and would miss him anyway.
